Chargers Declaw The Panthers

After taking a week off to deal with league issues, the Chargers were ready to show the LCFL and the Panthers that they were ready to play!

On their first drive, the Chargers scored a TD when (QB) McCray hit (WR) Troy Ham down the right side line for a 55 yd TD pass. The Chargers continued to put pressure on the Panthers defense with (TB) Carey King who rushed for 41 yds on 6 carries and 1 TD in the first half, to keep the Panthers defense on the field. In the second half, the Chargers were able to stretch the field in the passing game with (WR) Shawn Foxworth who finished with 5 catches for 119 yds and 1 TD.

Defensively, the Chargers controlled the game, forcing the Panthers in 2nd, 3rd and long giving the defense opportunity to put pressure on the Panthers QB'S. (TB) Cory Sutton was held in check keeping him to small gains. The defense was highlighted by four quarter goal line stands to keep their shutout!

"I thought we played well on both sides of the ball but we need to cut down on penalties. We had 3 Touchdowns called back due to penalties. We need to settle down and play smart football and let the coaches handle the refs before it costs us a game".
