![]() Chargers Defeat Cowboys 25 - 0! The Overbrook Chargers Organization send their condolences To (WR) Troy Hamm & Family for the lost of their love "Niko" who passed away in an unexpected tragic accident. Our prayers go out to the Family. The Chargers, with a heavy heart, played the NE Cowboys on Sunday night. Everyone on the team wanted to get Troy and his family a victory. The Chargers got the scoring started on their second drive when (TB) Paul Northern went left for a 12 yard TC to put the Chargers up 6 - 0. The extra point was no good. The Chargers took their next drive 68 yards on the ground and completed one pass to (TE) Ed Giddings for 22 yards, setting up a 1 yard run for a TD by (QB) McCray. The Chargers scored their 3rd TD when (QB) McCray hit (WR) Troy Hamm for an 11 yard TD pass with 7 seconds before half time, giving the chargers 18 - 0 lead at half time. The Chargers defense came out looking for a shut out and turned the heat up on the Cowboys' offense forcing 3 turnovers and holding their offense under 100 yards total offense. (DT) Mike Brothers & (DE) Daniel Morris lead the way with 4 sacks each. (LB) Maurice Gindraw set the tone early with a big sack to wake up the defensive unit! (DE) Dave Carter added 2 sacks in the second half to bring his sack total to 9 for the season. "PJ McCray got the start at QB because starting (QB) Demarteleire was a no show! McCray did a good job. He was able to put 4 scoring drives together. We still need work on both side of the ball. I saw some good things from the team, but we still need to be more focused in our assignments and game day preparation with uniforms and start time. We are looking to make some changes in our off week so we can be ready for the playoff run." |
